Over Coffee

I spent a little time with a friend of mine over coffee this morning. We were talking about how old school witnessing (memorizing the four spiritual laws, ee, the romans road, etc.) can be fake. It doesn't let people see our "humanness." We need to communicate the reality of the gospel lived out through the good and bad in us... yes, this will include our words and perhaps some of the scriptures that are contained in any of the "systems" listed above. We are to let our light shine, not putting it under a bowl, through our actions, attitude, lifestyle and heart. We should not be afraid to let the person within be seen by the world. Honesty is so vital. This would be the opposite of the "never let them see you sweat" slogan made famous by a pitstick manufacturer. Remember that Jesus let them see him bleed.
